Stampin’ Up! Color Renovation

April 7, 2010

Right before I left for a trip to Disneyland with hubby, Stampin’ Up! announced that they would be doing some “renovations” with their color families. And trust me, friends, this renovation is truly fantastic! So with the release of the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog on July 1st, you will see some changes in the Stampin’ Up! color families. Here is a look at what the new color families will be:

Why the Change?

Some of you may be wondering why Stampin’ Up! has decided to make such a drastic change to their color families, which have been around for years. Well, a simple explanation is that Stampin’ Up! wants to stay up to date with the latest trends in color and design. Color plays such a HUGE role in card-making and scrapbooking, and color is a big part of Stampin’ Up! And Stampin’ Up! wants to make sure that you have the best choices for color to use in your projects.

What Can I Look Forward To?

NEW CORE COLORS: Stampin’ Up! has reorganized their color families into what will now be called Collections: Brights, Regals, Subtles, Neutrals. These collections will consist of 40 Core Colors (10 colors in 4 collections).

IN COLORS RETURN: In Colors from this year and years past will be staking their claim as some of the new core colors! Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry are here to stay!

5 NEW CORE COLORS: In addition to the return of some special In Colors, Stampin’ Up! will be introducing 5 Brand New Core Colors to the mix! See if you can find them in the color chart above! I’ll give you a hint: Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, River Rock, Cherry Cobbler, and Cajun Craze! :D (If you guessed Crumb Cake as one of them, that was a trick. Crumb Cake is just the new name for Kraft!)

I know, I know…change can be tough sometimes. But this change is such a refreshing one! And I hope that you are as excited about it as I am! I love color and cannot express to you how unbelievable stoked I am to have new colors to play with and share with all of you! Just imagine all the fun new color combinations we get to come up with! It’s gonna be fantastic! But there’s even more exciting news to share!

NEW IN COLORS: Starting with the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog, Stampin’ Up! will be introducing 5 new In Colors. But instead of only being around for 1 year, In Colors will now be available for TWO YEARS! Wait…it gets better! Even though In Colors will be available for two years, 5 new In Colors will still be introduced each year! So starting next year, there will be 10 In Colors at your fingertips, with 5 rotating in and 5 rotating out. How awesome is that?

NEW PRODUCTS: Stampin’ Up! can’t bring in new colors without bringing in new products! So you will find fabulous color kits, markers, and expansions for pastels and watercolor wonder crayons available in the new Idea Book & Catalog. These fabulous new products can help you transition to the new colors. Or if you’re just starting out, these color kits will help you choose the best colors to start your hobby with! Also, there will be a new Color Coach coming to help make choosing your colors more fun and easier than ever! Watch for more details on these exciting new products in the weeks to come!
