Wedding Wednesday 7: A Special Proposal

*GASP* That’s right my dears! Wedding Wednesday is finally back! I know it’s been weeks and weeks since my last Wedding Wednesday post. I do apologize for that. Between projects and family stuff, I just haven’t had the time to create more wedding projects for you. But with the stamp sets in the new Occasions Mini Catalog, I have been uber inspired and have some great new ideas for Wedding Wednesdays. Let me start with THIS special project and give you a sneak peek at the new stamp Like-o-meter:

WedWed 7 Wiper Proposal

I was looking at this lovely stamp today and thought to myself, “Now wouldn’t it just be the cutest thing if someone used this stamp to create a card to propose to his girlfriend?” As soon as I had that thought, I was determined to create a card specifically for that purpose. And I knew a wiper card (view a tutorial HERE) would be the perfect proposal card. Here is why:

Still not seeing the brilliance? Here, let me give you a close up shot of the “wiper” part:

Cute, right? You know it is!

A Few Tips:

  • To color in the thermometer, I created a mask by stamping the Like-o-meter image on a scrap piece of paper, cutting out the thermometer portion, then placing this mask over my image panel. I then used a Stampin’ Sponge to sponge in Pretty in Pink ink up to the proper level.
  • A small heart on a Stampin’ Dimensional makes a great meter marker
  • One of the flourishes from the new Tiny Tags stamp set makes great designer paper. The Tiny Tags set includes two other cute flourishes that you could use instead.
  • For the “marry me” tag, I stamped the dotted border outline from the Tiny Tags set in Pretty in Pink. I then used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the words “marry” and “me” from the Like-o-meter stamp within the tag border. Then I simply punched out the tag using the coordinating Tag punch, which will also be available in the new Occasions Mini Catalog.

So to all you fellas out there, if you’ve been trying to figure out a cute yet simple way to propose to your crafty girlfriend, here’s your solution! :D If you’re not a paper crafting kind of guy, then share this post with a crafter you know. Or email me and I’ll be more than happy to create a more customized one for you!

And to all you ladies out there who know of someone who might be getting engaged soon, consider making this to help the process speed along :D I might just have to forward this post on to my cousin’s boyfriend :P
