PPA14 – Thinking Pink

It is Thursday and time for another Pals Paper Arts Challenge! *Sigh* It feels good to be participating with PPA again. And this week’s challenge (PPA14) was a fun way to get back into the groove. The design team over at PPA challenged us to Think Pink in honor of those whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. This challenge is a great tribute to women all over the world who are battling this deadly disease, and we all hope that our projects bring some joy and a smile to them! For my card, I wanted to remind everyone that each day is truly a precious gift from God. Here is my tribute:

A Few Tips:

  • Use your Stampin’ Dimensionals to create levels with your various panels. It’s a great and simple way to add depth to your card!
  • A great way to juice up a monochromatic color scheme? Throw in a random color just to add some pop! Although I was using different shades of pink with white here, I decided to throw in a nice black bow and some black text just to add some interest to the rest of the card and really make things pop!
  • Try stamping images on colored cardstock for a different look. I did that with the flower image on this card. I used the script stamp from the Charming set stamped in Pretty in Pink ink to create a subtle background on Pretty in Pink cardstock. I then stamped the flower image (also from the Charming set) in VersaMark ink over that and embossed it with white embossing powder. This allowed me to throw in some more pink and have an additional image on the card!

The PPA challenge didn’t require that our cards relate directly to breast cancer awareness, so I went with more of an inspirational/encouragement card. But I just had to share a card with you that another challenge participant created that I think is superb, and all about boobies! Out of respect for the creator, I won’t post a picture of her card here, but please please PLEASE go to her blog and see her card for yourself. I guarantee it will bring some laughter to your day! You can see Kalshelia’s booby-licious card here!
